The Corrections Mail Clerk is responsible for performing administrative and various clerical tasks, and responding to inquiries from the public and other agencies. Duties Include:
- Processing, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing inmate mail;
- Inspecting all mail for traces of possible drugs;
- Communicating with the public in person and by phone and routing callers appropriately;
- Performing computer tasks such as answering inmate requests via computer messaging and maintaining inmate phone databases;
- Processing releases inmate checks and funds disbursement requests; and
- Maintaining staff and visitor accountability logs.
