The Senior Department Coordinator provides upper-level administrative support to the Planning, Zoning, and Community Development Department. This position requires advanced experience and/or training in complex software programs and office operations and may also supervise subordinate clerical personnel. Duties include:
- Developing complex correspondence, reports, minutes, lists, forms, tables, and memorandums using word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs;
- Receiving the public and answering questions, responding to inquiries from employees, citizens, and others, and referring, when necessary, to the appropriate persons;
- Collecting and reviewing reimbursement vouchers;
- Assisting the Department Head in compiling and completing budget reports and transfers;
- Maintaining confidential personnel files, correspondence, and other documents;
- Issuing and maintaining records and preparing deposits for building and plumbing permits, fire safety plan/plat reviews, floodplain permits, contract documents, and construction standards;
- Compiling information, collecting fees/rental taxes and junkyard fees, and issuing Mobile Home Park and junkyard licenses;
- Issuing and maintaining records for County Street parking; and
- Providing back-up to the Electrical Division and other functions of the
department.
