APPLICATION DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 6, 2024. The Classification Counselor assesses and evaluates the personal and criminal history of adult inmates to recommend a security level and in developing and monitoring appropriate work and educational programs. Persons in this role possess the ability to conduct effective interviews with arrested and incarcerated individuals to obtain demographic information in order to determine potential risk and immediate needs of inmates. Duties include but are not limited to:
- recommend proper housing;
- making referrals for health, mental health or other needed services;
- providing supervision and training to Classification Counselor Trainees;
- Adhering to agency core values.
