This is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with daily administration of the County’s Zoning, Housing Standards and Nuisance codes. This position:
- interprets codes, conducts field investigations and case management, and resolves violations;
- Responds to citizen inquiries about potential permitted uses of their property, as well as complaints about uses on private property;
- Assists the Zoning Administrator by providing administrative and technical staff support to the Wicomico County Board of Appeals and the Agricultural Reconciliation Committee;
- Communicates with the public regularly via written correspondence, telephone, and in person;
- Conducts research and compiles background information for inclusion in reports, recommendations, and conditions of approval for public hearing/administrative hearing by the County Board of Appeals or the Zoning Administrator; and
- Reviews applicable codes and assists with preparing amendments for the consideration of the Wicomico County Planning and Zoning Commission.
