The ARFF Operations Tech & Airport Firefighter assists with responsibilities for keeping the Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation Part 139 and Transportation Security Regulation Part 1542. This position also assists with routine airfield property grounds maintenance, lighting systems, pavement and building maintenance, snow removal, wildlife depredation and related work. Duties Include:
- Operates all firefighting and rescue vehicle equipment;
- Responds to all on-airport emergencies and off-airport aircraft emergencies accessible;
- Provides airport security when necessary;
- Conducts maintenance inspections and repairs on all buildings, airfield pavement, runways, taxiways, aprons, electrical & lighting equipment (as required by FAR Part 139);
- Operates heavy equipment, tractors, mowers, snow removal equipment, power tools, etc. as required;
- Participates in and successfully completes training & testing as prescribed by FAR Part 139; and
- Accurately completes required documentation for inspections, maintenance, inventory, and other records.
