This position is responsible for the safe and thorough operation of the airport to Federal Aviation Administration Part 139 Certification Standards which covers adherence to all applicable regulations of the six departments of the FAA - including Security, Safety, Air Traffic, Air Carriers, Airports and Airways; responsible for developing airport policies, negotiating with airline companies, and establishing the airport budget. Additionally, the incumbent researches and formulates long range plans and programs, identifies funding sources, allocates funds for, and implements long range capital improvements involving major construction projects and major equipment which support goals and objectives of the organization; develops policy and position papers for County Management and/or Elected Officials; works closely with FAA Flight Service and RAPCON on issues related to air traffic and airport conditions.
